and turn left onto the B-6020 at the traffic light controlled
junction after the Abbey (signposted Kirkby-In-Ashfield / Motorway

Driving Directions from M1 Motorway
Leave the M-1 motorway at Junction 28, and take the A-38 heading
towards Mansfield (away from Derby).
Continue along the A-38 towards Mansfield, passing the Macarthur
Glen retail outlet on the right, the Snipe public house on the
left, and eventually under a footbridge, after which you will
arrive at a set of Traffic lights adjacent to the Kirkby-In-Ashfield
fire station.
Continue across the lights, and then follow the curve of the
road to the left, remain on the A-38, crossing another set of
lights signposted to the Sutton Parkway railway station, and across
one further set of traffic lights.
At the next set of traffic lights, TURN RIGHT
ONTO THE B-6139.
Continue on the B-6139 over a level crossing and a mini roundabout
up to a traffic-light controlled junction. Cross the junction,
heading up the hill, and the observatory is located on the left
of the road approx 3/4 mile after the traffic lights just before
the road curves to the left.
The Observatory is slightly set back from the road, though the
dome is visible when approaching along the B-6139 from the A-38.
(If you get to a traffic-light controlled junction with the A611
you've gone too far)!
